An unsuccessful packing job will lead to an unsuccessful move. Proper paper wrapping, padding and boxing procedures are vital to protect your home, business or office items.

Fly Packers and Movers offers a full range of packing and unpacking services. Trained professional packers are able to help you with as much or as little of the packing and unpacking as you need. We also sell boxes and packing supplies.

Supplies for handy for packing:
  • Pack electronics and audio-video equipment in their original boxes
  • Label the respective cables and tighten transit screws
  • Attach removed screws to the objects they are removed from
  • Avoid loading more than 50 pounds into one box
On each box you pack indicate the following things:
  1. Which room it should go in
  2. Whether it is fragile or not
  3. If it should be loaded last it will be unloaded first
    General Instructions:
  1. Cushion contents with material such as bubble wrap, newspaper or tissue
  2. Save room by using towels and blankets to wrap fragile items
  3. Pack your books tightly on end in small boxes
  4. Pore sprinkle talcum powder between book pages and wrap the books
  5. Leave books stored for a couple of months to eliminate smell
  6. Rugs and draperies should be cleaned before moving
  7. Pack medicines in a leak proof container
  8. Do not pack valuables, carry all valuables with you
  • Do proper planning ahead so that we can provide you with the suitable cartons. We can sell you any cartons you might need in addition to other packing material such as paper and tape. You might reduce your spendings by obtaining cartons from other sources such as friends who have recently moved and/or stores. Starting to collect cartons a month or two prior to your move will probably make it possible to obtain enough cartons.
  • Place heavy items such as books, record albums, canned food… in smaller cartons.
  • Large pictures, mirrors, glass tops and shelves, clocks and mattresses may require special cartons which we can provide
  • On local movings, items such as mirrors, large pictures and mattresses can usually be transported safely without packing. Lamps and lampshades should always be packed
  • Pack one room at a time. It will help you set realistic goals, saving frustration and disappointment
  • Tape the bottom of your cartons. Taping the bottom of cartons before filling them prevents the contents from spilling out the bottom during the move
  • Always make sure that heavy items are on the bottom and light items are on top
  • Wrap all breakable items individually in paper. Paper should be used to cushion the bottom, sides and top of cartons
  • Fill all cartons to the top without overfilling. Cartons with items sticking over the top cannot be properly closed or stacked; cartons that are underfilled tend to crush when stacked

  • Always make sure each carton is filled totally to the top before closing. A small space at the top can be filled with paper, a towel, a blanket or other similar items
  • Once you finished packing close your cartons and seal them with tape
  • Cartons should be closed-top and sealed with tape to prevent damage and make stacking easier. Once you did that, label each and every carton
  • Use a felt pen to clearly label each carton as to its general contents and the room it is to be placed in at destination
  • Label on the side of each carton rather than on the top so that cartons in stacks can be identified
Want to save precious time? Arrange cartons in stacks of similar sized cartons four to five feet high. This enables the cartons to be easily dollied from the house to the truck.
